Local business leaders were invited together this week to discuss the impact of the recession and share advice on surviving the storm. Local MP, John McFall co-hosted the breakfast event at Beardsmore Hotel, Clydebank with David Thorburn, Chief Operating officer of the Clydesdale Bank.

Hundreds of people gathered in Duntocher on Sunday, as veterans and serving members of the armed forces gathered with their families and members of the local community, for a spectacular service at St Mary’s church to celebrate Armed Forces Day 2009.

Primary 7 pupils from St Stephen’s Primary School, Dalmuir entertained veterans and serving members of the armed forces with music and drama recalling the Clydeside Blitz as part of the celebrations for Armed Forces Day 2009.
Asbestos campaigners cycle the length of Britain to stop to Britain’s biggest workplace killer

Paul Glanville, Katrina London and Jason Addy are cycling from Clydebank to Southampton to raise awareness of the problem. They are calling on the Government to establish a dedicated centre and increase funding for research in to asbestos related cancers.

They are met by John McFall MP, who waved them off at the start of their journey in Clydebank.
