Strathleven Regeneration Company has created the £60m
Lomondgate development, on the site of the former Diageo bottling plant. This has had enormous success in creating work opportunities.
The BBC's television studios on the site have
recently been expanded, and BBC Scotland intends to significantly increase its production of TV dramas on the site. Once completed, the site
will also include a
hotel, a restaurant complex, 20 acres of business park and 300 new homes, as well as new roads and infrastructure.
These developments will not only create jobs and boost the local economy, but they will also add to the attractiveness of Dumbarton as a natural gateway to the Loch Lomond National Park and an excellent location for people to live and work.

Clydeside regeneration
Clydebank College, pictured from the Titan Crane
Clydebank Rebuilt is one of the major players in the £62m
Clyde Gateway project. This has had, and will have, an enormous impact on the area. A £2m
project to transform the canal's north bank has been launched. There are
exciting plans for new housing, infrastructure, jobs and leisure facilities. Major recruitment is already taking place at the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Dalmuir.
A major part of the Clydebank regeneration is the stunning new
£32 million Clydebank College, opened at Queens Quay in October. Threatened with closure just ten years ago, this state-of-the-art development means that the college has huge potential for the future.
The
restoration of the Titan Crane was also a major part of Clydebank's transformation. As well as a Clydebank icon, the A-listed crane is now a major tourist attraction and will help attract visitors and investment to the town.

Loch Lomondside regeneration
John McFall led a successful campaign for Loch Lomond to be made into a national park. This campaign was successful - and in 1997,
Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park became Scotland's first national park.
This led to large-scale investment in the area - for example, the National Park was given a
new £5 million headquarters building in April 2008, and a
new hotel is being built down the road on the Strathleven site.
More than this, the park will draw visitors to the area from miles around, making West Dunbartonshire into a premier destination for tourism and business.
