Below are John McFall’s full expenses files, detailing each individual expense claim since 2004.
These files cover the following allowances:
- the Incidental Expenses Provision (IEP), for running an MP's offices and conducting Parliamentary business;
- the Communications Allowance, for communicating with constituents (first established in the 2007-08 financial year);
- and the Additional Costs Allowance (ACA), for an MP's expenses for living in London.
They do not cover the staffing budget or the travel allowance.
For 2008-09 and the first quarter of 2009-10, only information on ACA claims is available at the present time.
Please note that these files have been
redacted by the House of Commons authorities – some personal information has been blanked out (see below for more information on this).

How to view these filesThe easiest way to download these files is to
right-click on the links above, save the files to your computer, then open them. These are large files, and so they may take some time to download, particularly if you are on a slow internet connection.
The documents are in PDF format and can be opened with Adobe Reader. Most computers will already have this installed. If you do not have this installed, you can
download it free here (please note that this links to another website).
Why are these files redacted?These full claims can include information such as: the names and personal details of individuals other than the MP; personal home addresses and telephone numbers; credit card and bank details; and in some cases, security arrangements. To protect all of the individuals involved, the House of Commons authorities have removed this information before publishing the full expenses.
However,
the following information is never removed from the published files: the goods or services claimed for; the date of the claim; the value of the claim; and the allowance for which the claim was made.
